Q: How long does it take to chill an ice bath?
A: Depending on the starting temperature of the water and the ambient environment, iCoolsport's chillers can ready an ice bath, in as little as one hour. Large team pools may take up to three, however.
Q: Would it be okay to use a product like AquaSpa Sanitiser (chlorine bromine free) together with a pH reducer and Alkalinity Enhancer?
A: Yes, you can use AquaSpa Sanitiser (chlorine bromine free) together with a pH reducer and Alkalinity Enhancer.
Q: Can I use the AstralPool Mineral Guard with my MiPod Pro?
A: Yes, you can use AstralPool Mineral Guard with your MiPod Pro, but it is not recommended to use it with AquaSpa sanitiser, as the sanitiser contains PHMB. You need to select either the Mineral Guard or the AquaSpa products for your MiPod.
Q. Do I need a plumber to install my MiPod?
A. The MiPod Pro with the in-built 5000 watt chiller is a plug and play solution. However, the MiPod Pro with external 10,000 watt Turbo Mini chiller is recommended to be completed by a certified plumber as they will need to plumb the chiller to a services area either inside or outside the building, along with any of the optional sanitisation add-ons.
Q. Where should I place my MiPod or MiPod with remote chiller?
A. Ensure your MiPod pool is placed on a uniformly flat and level surface that can support the weight of the filled bath (1 kg per litre), seek advice from a qualified engineer or local council if unsure, provide easy access to all side vents and panels for servicing, and carefully consider the location for drainage and attachment points before filling the bath.
Q. What are the ventilation or airflow requirements?
A. For models with internal chillers, ensure your MiPod is placed at least 300mm away from any obstacles, walls, or structures on all sides to allow proper airflow, and keep it away from any heat sources. Provide appropriate ventilation to maintain a safe operating temperature; a well-ventilated area is required for effective heat dispersion. Avoid placing the chiller in a confined space to prevent it from reaching unsafe temperatures, which could trigger the inbuilt safety system and shut down the unit.
Q. How do I fill up my MiPod with water?
A. To fill your MiPod with water, ensure the drain valve is in the CLOSED position, use a hose to fill the pool to cover the internal top water outlet to prevent air from entering and triggering the safety system, leave enough space for water displacement to avoid overflow when users enter, especially if planning for 2 or 3 people, and note that a permanent water connection is not required.
Q. How do I drain my MiPod?
A. To drain your MiPod, simply connect a 12mm hose to the drain valve and open the valve to let the water flow out.
Q. Does the chiller need to be placed at a certain height?
A. The chiller can be located at ground level or mounted on the wall up to 5 metres above or 5 metres below the ice bath.
Q. What are the minimum clearances around the chiller?
A. The unit must be installed with minimum clearance distances maintained on all sides to prevent performance degradation or potential irreversible damage. Additionally, adequate spacing should be provided to allow for future servicing and maintenance.
Q. What pipes do I need to plumb the external Turbo Mini chiller?
A. To plumb the external Turbo Mini chiller, you will need 40mm PVC pipes and fittings for the two 40mm connections, a bypass valve if using a fixed speed pump with a higher flow rate than optimal, an inline filter to prevent debris from obstructing components, and insulation for all piping and the filter to reduce performance losses and condensation.
Q: What are the airflow requirements?
A: The Turbo unit must be installed in an open, well-ventilated area with airflow equivalent to at least 4000 cubic feet per minute through the enclosed area. The room must be enough to carry away up to 15,000 watts of heat.
Q. What’s the minimum and maximum distance between the external chiller and the ice bath?
A. The chiller should be located a minimum of 5 metres away and a maximum of 20 metres away from the ice bath.
