What are the most common ankle injuries?

The most common ankle injury is ankle sprains. Individuals involved in sports such as football, basketball, rugby and volleyball are at high risk of ankle sprains due to twisting and rolling movements of the foot. Depending on the level of damage to the ankle ligament, the three grades of ankle sprains are:
Grade 1: Mild sprain with soreness and slight swelling.
Grade 2: Moderate sprain with a partial ligament tear. The ankle joint is painful and remains swollen for a few days.
Grade 3: Severe sprain with a complete ligament tear. Heavy swelling and severe pain in the ankle joint.

How can I prevent ankle sprains?

The main difference between Malleotrain Ankle Support and Malleotrain S Ankle Support is the presence of the semi-elastic strap system present in Malleotrain S which functions as taping for the ankle. This aids in providing pain relief for Grade 1 and Grade 2 ankle sprains. Malleotrain, on the other hand, provides active support to the ankle tendons through the two viscoelastic pads.
